oakridge-grantThe Osteopathic Foundation of West Michigan has awarded $140,000 in grant funding to establish a community medical and dental clinic based at Oakridge Public Schools that will provide needed services to students and area residents.
The Oakridge area lacks primary care providers and dentists, so many students are not receiving care on a regular basis.  Superintendent Tom Livezey has been a proponent of the clinic, noting that improved student health leads to better attendance and better academic performance.
